| The Tallmadge Civil Service Commission will give a test for the position of Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic. Test Date: January 29, 2025 Test Time: 6:00 p.m. Location: Tallmadge Community Center 80 Community Road Application Fee: A $20 application fee is payable in cash or Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express in the Payment Center at the Tallmadge Municipal Building lower level. Payment can be made by phone by calling the Civil Service office at 330-633-5011. Checks are not acceptable. Application fee is non-refundable. An application along with the receipt as proof of payment will be accepted in the Civil Service office at 46 North Avenue. Deadline to file an application is set at 12:00 noon January 24, 2025. An application will not be accepted after the deadline – no exceptions. An application that is mailed must be received by the deadline along with proof of payment, regardless of the postmark. After submitting your application with your receipt, no further notification will take place. Requirements/Qualifications: High School Diploma or G.E.D. Must be 18 years old and less than 42 years old at the time of test. Must be an Emergency Medical Technician/Paramedic with a current State of Ohio Certification at time of appointment & maintain thereafter. Must have a current State of Ohio FF1 at time of appointment and obtain a FF2 Certification within the one-year probationary period and maintain thereafter. Potential applicants over the age of 42 but are currently employed and contributing to the Ohio Police & Fire Pension System, may apply if their time of contributing service subtracted from their age is 42 or less. Successful applicants must pass a medical physical, psychological exam, and drug/alcohol test. Bonus Points 5% Veteran’s Preference: A copy of your DD214 with anything other than Dishonorable (DD) in block 24 of the DD214 must accompany your application. 5% Level II (240 HR) 5% 0 – 1year Part-Time Tallmadge Fire Department Member Additional 1% per year after year one – Max 10% Salary: $27.06 per hour plus benefits Calculators permitted during the test. You must provide your own calculator. The use of a cell phone for any purposes during the examination is prohibited.
