Joint Fire District Class to be held at the OFCA Training Facility on May 22, 2023

Register today for "The Legal, Financial, Service, and Political Realities of Joint Fire Districts" presented by David Comstock, Jr. on May 22, 2023 at the Ohio Fire Chiefs' Association Office located in Worthington, Ohio. This class will take place from 9:00 AM - Noon.

With the staffing crisis in many fire departments, local communities have been searching for a solution that brings high-quality Fire/EMS services to their front door. Many communities have found this solution by establishing a Joint Fire District. In this training, you will become familiar with all aspects of joint fire districts in the state of Ohio, learn how to explore joint fire districts or other joint operating agreements, and how to initiate the process of establishing a joint fire district in your community.

David "Chip" Comstock is a 40-year veteran of the fire service and currently serves as the fire chief of the Western Reserve Joint Fire District in Poland, Ohio. He is also an attorney with the firm of Bonezzi, Switzer, Polito, & Hupp. He has created more joint fire districts in Ohio than other legal counsel, and often is used as a consultant by state and regional organizations as it relates to advice for fire operations. He has also testified as a subject matter expert in both state and federal courts.
