Join Fire Chief Robert Leininger and Fire Captain Mike Stine of Springfield Township Fire
Department for this course. This presentation will focus on the benefits and challenges of putting zoning
code enforcement under the auspice of the fire department. We will discuss how we worked through
those challenges and answer questions that may pertain to other municipalities.
Attendees will be provided:
• Benefits to Springfield Township from combining the two enforcement divisions into one
• What to expect when combining divisions and if this will work for other municipalities
• Our learning experience when trying different innovative ideas
Ron Ritchey with the National Fire Sprinkler Association will join us for a unique seminar that will
provide attendees with an overview of how the codes and standards interface well together and also at
times conflict with one another, and how to successfully navigate through both to achieve a code
compliant system.
