The city of Battle Creek is located in Calhoun County off 1-94 between Chicago and Detroit. The city is known as “Cereal City” and has a proud history and promising future of providing the world's leading food brands, research, and training.The city is home to Kellogg Company’s world headquarters, the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, Post Cereals, and the Fort Custer Industrial Park, as well as many other major corporate community members.
The city is governed by a nine-member city commission and operates under a commission-manager form of government. A city manager is appointed by the city commission to handle the day-to-day operations of the city.
Required qualifications for the position include a bachelor’s degree in fire administration, public administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is desired. A minimum of ten years’ experience in fire/emergency services management is required.
